Dhaka – A former union parisad (UP) member was shot to death in Khanka Sharif Bazar area at Boro Durgapur village of Bera upazila in Pabna on Friday night.The deceased was identified as Sabuj Mandal, 45, a former member of Dhalarchar union parishad and son of late Lokman Mandal of the village.Gautam Kumar Biswas, additional superintendent of Pabna district police, said some miscreants numbering 4/5 shot Sabuj to death while he was taking tea at a stall around 8:00 pm.Police primarily suspect that Sabuj might have been killed over establishing supremacy in the area, he added.UNB news agency
