Robbers looted valuables worth TK 7 lakh including gold, cash, laptop and mobile sets from an expatriate’s house at Gopsohor area in Dakkin Surma upazila early Monday.Witnesses said a gang of robbers, numbering 14-15, stormed the house of Tarmuz Ali, an American expatriate, breaking open the door around 3.30am and kept the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.Later, they looted valuables, including five tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 2.5 lakh cash, eight mobile phone sets, laptop and other valuables from the house.The robbers also beat up Abur Rakib, son of Tarmuz, as he tried to resist them.On information, police visited the spot.Mohammad Mursalin, officer-in-charge of Dakkin Surma Police Station confirmed the incident.UNB, Sylhet
