I fully endorse the advice of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to explore the opportunity of exporting organic foods as those have huge demand in the global market. People all over the world are getting conscious about the food crops produced through application of hazardous chemical fertilizers and by using genetically modified (GM) planting materials.There is a great scope for producing organic crops in our country and exporting the organic produces to neighboring countries plus Middle East, Europe and America. True, the present government has adopted a number of appropriate measures to modernize agriculture and to boost crop production.
Meanwhile in order to ensure easy access of our organic agricultural products to the global market, I think, the Government among other things need to facilitate air-cargo spaces and insurance for exportable organic food items.
