Fake magistrate, 3 students held for leaking fake question

Dhaka, April 07 – An imposter who identified himself as a magistrate at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka was arrested from the premises of the CMM court on the charge of fraudulence.
The arrestee was identified as Md Jewel Rana alias Sohel, 27. He hails from Tangail Sadar Upazila.
His papers were identified as fake. Later, he was handed over to Kotwali Police Station.
Moudud Howlader, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station, has told newsmen that the man has been arrested on the charge of fraudulence.
Police was found filing a case against Jewel Rana in this regard. Law enforcers also arrested three students of Dhaka University for their alleged involvement in extorting money by leaking fake questions to examinees.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Sunday placed them on two-day remand each after they were produced in the court on the charge.
Police arrested three from Hazaribagh area of the city, about 8 pm last night, said Md Nazmul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Cybercrime Division. Fake question papers were recovered from their possession, he said.
The arrestees were identified as: Imran Khasru, student of English department and a resident of Surya Sen Hall; Ahsan Habib, student of Linguistics department and a resident of Surya Sen Hall, and Rakib, student of Linguistics department and a resident of Mohsin Hall.
They were shown arrested in a case filed with Hazaribagh Police Station. – Special Correspondent
