BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday failed to hold back tears while handing over the nomination letters of party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
BNP formally started the distribution of nomination letters to its candidates for contesting the forthcoming national election at its Chairperson’s Gulshan office in the afternoon. Fakhrul started the process handing over the nomination letters of Khaleda Zia to Bogura BNP president Saiful Islam for Bogura-6 and to her adviser Helaluzzaman Lalu for Bogura-7 at 3:15 pm.
At that time, emotion clutched Fakhrul’s throat and he was seen wiping out tears.“May Allah help her [Khaleda] to come out from jail so that she could take part in the election and work for establishing people’s rights,” said the BNP leader after handing over the nomination letters of Khaleda Zia.
