Fakhrul’s motorcade attacked in Chittagong

Dhaka – The local supporters of ruling Awami League allegedly attacked the motorcade of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in Isakhali area of Rangunia upazila in Chittagong while he was going to visit the hillslide spots of Rangamati, injuring six party men on Sunday.Fakhrul was scheduled to visit the landslide spots in Rangamati this morning while the local administration restricted his entry through Deppachhari in Sadar upazila, said Kaptai Upazila Chairman Dildar Hossain.The BNP leader then took another route from Chittagong through Kaptai to Rangamati.When Fakhrul’s motorcade reached Isakhali area of Rangunia around 10:30 am, a group of local AL men swooped on them, injuring six people and vandalised their vehicles, he said.The BNP leader, along with five cars, turned back to Chittagong after the attack.Earlier, Fakhrul landed in Chittagong Airport around 8:40 am.UNB news agency
