Father Timm Remembered

Dear Editor,
Thank you very much for publishing my article-“Father Timm-“My Benevolent Guide” in your esteemed newspaper. I agree with your view regarding the scanned letter parts I sent for publication. In fact, in those days most writers had a personal type-writing machine; Father Timm had one and so had I. I am sure you also had one being a talented and dedicated writer.
But sometimes in those days, it would be difficult to buy the good ‘great wall ribbon’ because of unavailability. So, some of the Father Timm’s typed letters to me now got fade and illegible to read in print. Meanwhile, I would like to mention one important memory with Father Timm. He used to share even our family’s grief. When my father died suddenly Father Timm shared our grief and he attended the Milad and Dua Mahfil held in our residence praying to Allah for the peace of my late father’s departed soul. He took launch with us sitting on the floor cloth and spent a lot of time with us. We’re greatly touched and inspired to witness his kind gesture.
Father’s Timm’s life was full of challenges; he was always vocal against any sort of injustice and repression. He not only served as my referee but also made me mentor/nominator in some very prestigious institutions. There are a lot of good things to write about Father Timm.
A prestigious Magsaysay laureate, I consider Father Richard William Timm CSC a real and bona fide American who spread the true value of American Democracy and commitment to peace and justice all over the world. I am glad to find a note from the US Embassy in Dhaka appreciating the memories of late Father Timm. I sincerely hope that the US State Department will also acknowledge the good work and accomplishment of late Father Timm.
Yours sincerely,
