Feni land office set ablaze

Miscreants torched a local land office at Radhanagar in Chhagalnaiya upazila early Thursday, the fifth day of the fresh 120-hour nationwide hartal enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance alongside its ongoing countrywide indefinite transport blockade.
Night guard of the office Abul Kashem said a group of miscreants hurled some crude bombs then set the land office on fire in the area at about 3:15 am, burning down valuable documents and furniture.Informed, a firefighting unit rushed in and doused the blaze.
Police arrested Rabiul Haque Chowdhury Mahbub, a chairman of Radhanagar union parishad and also BNP joint secretary of the same union, on suspicious of involvement in the fire incident.
Officer-in-charge of Chhagalnaiya Police Station confirmed the incident. – UNB
