Dhaka – Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed on Monday morning after two and a half hours of disruption caused by dense fog.Mohiuddin Russell, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha ghat, said they kept suspended ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route from 5:30 am to 8 am due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog.Three ferries remained motionless in the middle of the river while 13 more remained anchored at Paturia and Daulatdia ghats. About 300 hundred vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded at both ghats.Passengers suffered most as number of vehicles had to be kept waiting on both sides of the river for crossing amid cold weather.Later, ferry services resumed around 8 am as fog disappeared, said the BIWTC official.UNB news agency
