“Monpura” famed director Gias Uddin Selim’s upcoming film “Shopnojaal” has received verbal approval from BFDC’s newly formed preview committee on Monday.
The director told Showtime: “We have received verbal approval from the preview committee and after the necessary procedures are complete, we will submit it to the censor board within the next couple of days and also submit it to the Indian censor board.”When asked about the release dates, the national award winning director replied: “Hopefully the local censor will clear the film soon but the Indian censor board usually takes a bit time to confirm. We will wait to set the release dates as we are planning to release the film both in Bangladesh and India on the same day. So release dates will be confirmed after we get the censors’ clearance from both countries.”
The film’s shooting started back in February, 2016 at the bank of the Dakatia river in Chadpur. Rest of the project has been shot in Kolkata.
The drama film, written and directed by Selim, features Yash Rohan and Pori Moni in the lead roles. The cast list of the film also includes Misha Sowdagar, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahana Shumi, Shahidul Alam Sacchu, Iresh Zaker, Shahed Ali, Farhana Mithu, Ahsanul Haque Minu among others.
