The authorities concerned of the judiciary are going to organise a National Judicial Conference, which will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on December 26.The authorities concerned have completed almost all of the preparation to success the conference, the first of its kind in Bangladesh. The main objective of the assembly to find out the way of reducing the backlog of cases, to strengthen the judicial administration, to digitalize the judiciary and to make more transparent of the judiciary.
Concerned officials opined that the participants would elaborately discuss about the development of the country’s judiciary and they might discuss to find out the way of corruption free judiciary as well as the smooth functioning of the judiciary in the assembly.
After completing the conference, the authorities concerned will inform the all ministries and people of the country about the existing problem and prospect of the judiciary, concerned officials said.
All concerned officials of the judiciary will give their opinion at the conference on several issues of the judiciary especially on the huge number of backlog of cases pending before the trial court and the higher court. More than 30 lakh cases are now pending before the courts for disposal, according to the sources.
The conference has divided in three sessions, in which judges of the trial court and higher court and judicial officers will take part and distinguish guests will be present at the conference.
The first session of the conference will start at 10.00am, where President Abdul Hamid will be present as the chief guest. Some ministers including law minister Anisul Huq and finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and some secretaries will also be present and Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha will preside over the first session of the conference.
The working session will be held in the second session of the conference, which will preside by the senior judge of the Appellate Division Justice Abdul Wahhab Miah.
The third and final session will preside by the Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, where the trial court judges will give their opinions and the chief justice will give hid advice to the judges in conducting judicial function.
At about 1500 trial court judges, High Court Justices, Appellate Division Justices and distinguish guests will attend at the conference.
