Five BNP men injured in Ctg pre-polls violence

Chattogram, Dec 22 – At least five BNP men were injuries in an attack on the residence of BNP aspirant for Chattogram-8 constituency and his election campaign office allegedly by Awami League men at Chandogaon in the port city on Saturday evening. The attackers also vandalized 15 vehicles, said city BNP assistant office secretary Idris Ali.
He alleged that a group of Awami League leaders and activists carried out the attack on BNP candidate’s residence around 6:45 pm, leaving five of his supporters injured.
“They (Awami League men) also fired several rounds of bullets and vandalized 15 motorcycles and private cars parked in front of the election campaign office,” he added.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control, said Abul Bashar, officer-in-charge of Chandogaon Police Station. – UNB
