Five drug peddlers in including woman were arrested with 228 of
phensidyl at Zalangi area under Dupchanchia upazila in Bogra district
on Thursday.
The arrested were identified as Masud Rana, 25, son of Abdul Khalek,
Sharmin Bgum, 22, wife of Masud Rana Paschim Amsotro village, Mamun,
30, son of late Habibor Rahman Zamalgonj village Zahangir Alom, 25,
son of Abdul Gony and Mithu, 25, son of Atowar Hossain under Akkelpur
upazila in Joypurhat district.
Acting on a tip-off police raided led by officer-in-charge of
Dupchanchia police station Riaz Ahmed and second officer Abdul Alim at
Zalangi area and recovered 228 bottles of Indian contraband phensidyl
syrup from a microbus as well as arrested them from the spot.
A case was lodged with local police station in this connection. The
arrested were sent to Bogra custody on the day. -Our Correspondent
