Dhaka – A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed five JMB operatives, arrested from city's Mirpur area, on a seven-day remand each in connection with planning to conduct subversive activities.Magistrate Mahmudul Hasan passed the remand order yesterday (Wednesday). Earlier, SI Saiful Islam of DMP's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTCU) placed five JMB men sto the court seeking 10 days' remand for each accused. The arrested persons are : Riyaz alias Rakib, M Abu Bin Sayeem alias Bappi, Kazi Abdullah Al Osman alias Ahsan, M Sohag alias Chairman and M Mamun alias Himel.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, CTTCU Chief Monirul Islam said the arrested persons, are active members of the JMB and they were planning to conduct subversive act on 31st night. Of them, Riyaz is a leader of the Islamist outfit. He also said 30 kilograms of explosives were recovered from their possessions.
