Rajshahi – The authority of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has formed a five-member probe committee to probe Teachers assault and break the now going dead lock condition of the University on Wednesday.The probe committee was formed at a meeting of the Teachers Association with Rafiqul Alam Beg, Vice Chancellor (VC) of RUET was in the Chair. As teachers boycott seems to continue the VC met to bring back the as usual condition of the campus.
RUET VC Rafiqul Alam Beg said, Teachers have allegation of being assaulted by the students while the students were demonstrating for the elimination of 33 credit system. As a result we called on a meeting to solve the problem following which a five man probe committee is formed. We hope the members of the committee will b able to campus the normal condition of the campus soon.
Mentionably, the academic activities of RUET came to a deadlock as the students demonstrated for the elimination of 33 credit system since Jan 28. Later the authorities met the demand of the students while the teachers boycott the class-exam for sign die on the allegation of assault. – RU Correspondent
