The regional office of Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institutions (BSTI) has expedited drives against the manufacturing of substandard and adulterated food and fined owners of some food factories Taka 1.3 lakh in the metropolis on Sunday.According to the officials concerned, the BSTI in cooperation with the district administration conducted mobile court in different areas of the city.
The court led by Executive Magistrate Sadia Jerin lodged separate cases against three owners of food factories on charges of manufacturing, possessing and selling of substandard and unhygienic food items together with violation of BSTI rules and regulations.
The accused food factories are: Ruchita Food Industries, Bhai Bhai Bakery and Taz Bakery.The court realised Taka 1.3 lakh from the factory owners as fine and disposed of the cases on the spot. It has also destroyed huge ingredients of bread and chanachur. BSS, Rajshahi
