A former Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was injured in an attack allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League men in Sreepur upazila on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Jahurul Haque Milon, former president of Sreepur upazila unit of JCD.Victim’s wife Nargis Sultana, also vice-chairman of Sreepur upazila parishad, said Milon came under the attack by a group of BCL activists when he went to the upazila parishad to meet her in her office.
The attackers beat him up with sticks indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
He was admitted to sadar hospital.
Contacted, upazila BCL president Abdul Hannan said Milon might have been attacked for his derogatory remarks about Bangabandhu. – UNB
