After a long awaiting of three decades the construction work of long desired Bagerhat 250- Bed Hospital started on Wednesday in the morning. On the occasion the foundation stone of 250- bed hospital was ceremonially laid by Al-haj Adv. Mir Shawkat Ali Badsha, MP of Bagerhat constituency-2 in presence of a large gathering and in a happy and grandeur atmosphere. The 250 bed 6 storied hospital is being constructed at a cost of T. 28 crores, given by JAIKA as per the assurance given by the Premier Shaikh Hasina.. Earlier a grand rally was brought out from the hospital premises and it paraded the main roads of the district town. It was led by the local MP and high officials.
After that the foundation stone was laid a discussion meeting was held in the hospital premises with Muhammad Shukur Ali, DC, Bagerhat in the chair. Alhaj Dr. Mozammel Hossain, President of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee of Social-welfare Affairs and MP of Bagerhat constituency-4 was the chief guest in the discussion meeting. It was also addressed among others by Niajamul Haq Molla, Police Super, Bagerhat, Dr. Md.
