Dhaka, Jan 14 – Six people were killed and 22 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Zinglatali on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Daudkandi upazila early Saturday.Identities of the deceased could not be confirmed till last reports came in.
Officer-in charge of Daudkandi Highway Police Station Abdul Awal said the Comilla-bound bus coming from Dimla upazila in Nilphamari district fell into a roadside ditch in the area as the driver of the bus lost control over the steering around 5:00 am, leaving five people dead on the spot and 23 others injured.
Three of the injured were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from Gouripur Upazila Health Complex while 20 others given first aid, said the OC.
Later, one of the three succumbed to his injures on way to DMCH. – UNB
