Dhaka – Expressing solidarity with the people of Bangladesh following the Gulshan café attack, the France Embassy in Dhaka has cancelled its reception programme scheduled for July 14 on the occasion of the French National Day, UNB news agency reported.“The Embassy of France considers that holding a festive reception in this mourning time is not appropriate,” said a France Embassy notification on Wednesday, adding that the reception has been cancelled due to the terrible attack of July 1.
The reception was scheduled to be held at the Le Méridien Dhaka on July 14 marking the National Day of France.
Meanwhile, Japanese Embassy in Dhaka also postponed a dinner programme, scheduled to be held on July 12, due to ‘unavoidable circumstances’.
