Gaibandha Textile Vocational Institute work near completion

Construction work of a building of Gaibandha Textile Vocational Institute is nearing completion to help provide quality education to the learners in an improved atmosphere.The building is being built at Adarshapara of the town here at the cost of Tk 5.15 crore under the project of 10 Textile Vocational Institute Establishment, office sources said.Public Works Department (PWD) is implementing the work while government is providing the fund, sources said.About 95 percent work had already been completed and the rest work would be finished within very short time, said an official of the department.Meanwhile, the instructors have started their academic activities for the 190 learners of class nine and ten of the institute since January last, said superintendent of the institute engineer M Mahmuduzzaman.Executive engineer of PWD Debashis Chandra Saha said after completing the approach road construction in September, the building would be handed over to the authority concerned to provide quality education to the learners in a congenial atmosphere.On the other hand, the construction work of three-storied building of District-Sadar Upazila Server Station under Bangladesh Election Commission is also progressing fast at Circuit House area of the town here.PWD is also implementing the work at the cost of Tk 1.32 crore with the own fund of government, the official sources said.Executive engineer of PWE Debashis Chandra Saha said around 80 percent work had already been completed and the rest would be finished by September, it is expected.District election officer Mohammad Azizul Islam said at present the election related works like adding, excluding and migrating the names of the voters and issuing their ID cards were being done centrally in Dhaka.After opening the server station, the election related works which were being done centrally would be performed here tjhereby removing the sufferings of the voters, he said. – BSS, Gaibandha
