Detectives picked up mayor of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) MA Mannan at DOHS in Baridhara area of the capital on Wednesday afternoon.
A DB police team picked up MA Mannan, also BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser, from his DOHS residence around 5:30 pm, said Mohammad Wasim, assistant personal secretary to the mayor.He was wanted in a number of cases filed with Joydevpur Police Station, said officer-in-charge of the police station Rezaul Karim.
MA Mannan faces several cases of Arson attacks during hartal and blockade programmes, sources said.
MA Mannan has defeated the AL candidate Azmatullah in the first Mayoral election of Gazipur city in 2013 by a large margin of votes. News Desk
