A young girl was killed by slitting throat allegedly by her boyfriend in a residential hotel in Rail Gate area of the city on Tuesday night.
Police arrested the accused boyfriend, Saidur Rahman, 26, in possession of a sharp weapon. Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Shahjalal, inspector of Sadar Model Police Station, said that Saidur along with the girl hired a room at the hotel, Rupayan, in the area in the evening. Later, hotel employees caught Saidur when he tried to escape from the hotel at about 9:00pm.Meanwhile, hotel employees also recovered throat-slit body of the girl from the hotel room.Police said during primary interrogation, Saidur said he had developed relation of love with the girl from talks over the mobile phone.He also admitted to have the killed the girl following an altercation over a trifling matter. -UNB, Narayanganj
