Golam Sabur Tulu MP Laid to rest

Awami League lawmaker Golam Sabur Tulu was laid to rest at Banani graveyard in the city on Saturday afternoon after holding four namaz-e-janazas.The fourth and last namaj-e-janaja of Sabur was held at Patharghata High School premises in Barguna at 2:20pm. Whip ASM Firoz, Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu, MP and Dr Anwar Hossain, MP, among others, were present on the occasion.
After his namaj-e-janaja at his own constituency Patharghata, the body of Sabur was taken to Dhaka again and he was buried at Banani graveyard about 4:00pm.
Earlier, the first namaj-e-janaza was taken place in front of his family business entity Madhumoti Tiles at Savar at 7:30am and the second namaj-e-janaza was held in front of Opsonin Complex at Eskaton in the city at 10:00am. Family members, party leaders and activists, elite well-wishers of the deceased lawmaker and factory’s employees and workers attended the namaj-e-janaza.
The third namaj-e-janaza of Sabur was held in the tunnel of Jatitya Sangsad Bhaban at about 11:30am.
President Abdul Hamid Advocate, Deputy Speaker M Shawkat Ali, cabinet members, members of parliament and senior leaders of different political parties attended the namaz-e-janaza.
People from all walks of life bade a farewell to AL lawmaker Sabur with flowers after his third namaj-e-janaza.
President Abdul Hamid paid his tribute to Golam Sabur by placing wreath on the coffin of late MP.
Just after the President, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to her party’s late lawmaker by placing wreath on the coffin.
Deputy Speaker M Shawkat Ali placed wreath on behalf of Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, opposition chief whip Zainul Abdin Farroque, whip ASM Firoz and Jatiya party MP Ruhul Amin Howlader also placed wreaths on behalf of their respective parties.
After placing the wreaths, the President and the Prime Minister along with others offered a munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.
Awami League lawmaker Golam Sabur Tulu of Barguna-2 constituency was killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Chumudi area under Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district on Friday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to Awami League lawmaker from Barguna-2 constituency Golam Sabur Tulu by placing a wreath on his coffin
at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
After placing the wreath, the Prime stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the memory of Sabur.
Earlier, the Prime Minister consoled the bereaved family members including Sabur’s wife Sultana Nadira Begum and his three daughters.
Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury and Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury were also present on the occasion, among others.
AL leader Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Saber Hossain Chowdhury and Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and BNP leader Khandaker Mahbub Uddin also took part in the namaj-e-janaza.
After the third namaj-e-janaza of Sabur, his body was flown to Barguna by a helicopter for another namaj-e-janaza at his own constituency. Lt Col Sajjad Hossain, the elder son in law of Sabur, among others, went to Barguna along with the body.
The body of Sabur was returned Dhaka by the same helicopter after the fourth namaj-e-janaza to burry.
Meanwhile, paying rich tribute to memory of Sabur, AL leader Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said road incidents have been increased as the pressure on roads is also increased.
He however said that the government has already taken up different measures to avoid such road accidents.
Zainul Abdin Farroque said the administration has to be more cautious in providing driving licenses so that nobody looses any colleague like this.
Recalling the memory of Sabur, JP leader Ruhul Amin Howlader said Sabur was not only an AL leader rather he was a successful leader of the South Bengal.
