Gold orhaments and cash of a jewellery shop were stolen in the Sylhet
city on Saturday.Nilmani Karmakar, owner of Swarna Jewellers at Bandarbazar in the
city, said that he left the shop Thursday night after closing it
properly, but he found the lock of his shop broken when he came to
open it the collowing morning.
‘The burglars have stolen seven bharis of gold, 45 bharis of silver
and Tk 45,000 in cash from my shop,’ the shop owner claimed.
Kotwali police second officer Narayan Datta told New Nation that he
visited the shop in the morning following an allegation in this
regard.
