Govt asked to explain if Khaleda is free or arrested

BNP vice chairman Maj (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed yesterday sought explanation from the government as to whether BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is arrested or free as people of intelligence agency sit in front of her office with a register book and kept in a table recording the names, address and phone numbers of the visitors.
Addressing a press conference at her Banani residence, the former minister said the ongoing blockade programme programme will continue until declaration for midterm election is made.

The BNP leader said a decision in this regard could be taken through discussion between the liaison committees of Awami League and BNP. “All affairs can be discussed if the government resigns,” he added.
Replying to a question, he said BNP leaders and activists are not involved in any type of violence rather the government agents are carrying out the vilolent incidents.
Accusing the government of carrying out extra judicial killings, the BNP leader said a total of 33 people were killed in police custody during the last one month. – Staff Reporter
