Group Art Exhibition Symphony begins at AF Dhaka

Dhaka, Sept 02 – A group art exhibition titled ‘Symphony’ has begun at its La Galerie, Allianc Française, Dhaka on Monday, 2 September 2019.

Prof. Biman Bihari Das, Chairmen, All India Art and Craft Society(AIFACS) attended opening ceremony as the chief guest while Prof. Nazrul Islam, Academic and art writer also attended the event as the special guest.
Symphony’ is an exhibition which emanates from a get-together of artists from India and Bangladesh. Many of the artworks thus express folk themes and traditions of India and Bangladesh. Notably Prof. Biman Bihari Das — who was awarded the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors — will exhibit his bronze and marble sculptures as well as acrylic paintings. Nurun Nahar Papa will present her work as fusion of oriental style and modern design forms .Elham Huq Khuku particularly follow the culture and social aspects of Bangladesh.Zebun Nahar Nayeem applies the motifs as symbol of society and enjoy realistic, semi realistic and abstract work. Subrata Ghosh looks back towards the grand tradition of painting and sculpture of classical era. Joydeb Bala’s work are known for painting in the Indian style, most works are modern both in theme and in execution. Simran Kawaljit Singh Lamba’s mixed media works use dry pastel, molten wires and molten coal tar. Nishi Sharma expresses her deep personal and transformative experiences of this living world directly onto her subject in an abstract form
The participating artists are, from India, Prof. Biman Bihari Das, Joydeb Bala, Nishi Sharma, Simran Kawaljit Singh Lamba, and Subrata Ghosh; and from Bangladesh, Nurun Nahar Papa, Elham Huq Khuku, and Zebun Nahar Nayeem
The exhibition will be open to all until Saturday, 7 September 2019.
Visiting hours are as follows: Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday from 9am to12 noon as well as 5 pm to 8 pm (closed on Sunday). – Press release
