Gun attack on BNP-backed KCC councilor candidate

Khulna, May 6 – Some unidentified miscreants opened fire on a BNP backed councilor aspirant for Khulna City Corporation (KCC) election at Jamuna Road in Khlishpur on Saturday night.Three miscreants riding on a motorcycle fired two rounds of bullets and hurled three handmade bombs on word no 7 councilor aspirant Sultan Mahmud Pintu and his people around 10 pm, said Sardar Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Khalishpur Police Station.
However, Sultan Mahmud remained unhurt fortunately, he said.
Police were trying to spot the offenders, he added. The KCC election is scheduled to be held on May 15. – UNB
