Hannan Shah blames Indian spies for Aslam’s photo leak

Dhaka – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah on Sunday claimed Indian intelligence agency had a hand in leaking the photo of BNP leader Aslam Chowdhury snapped with a Israeli politician, reports agencies.
The former army officer alleged the Indian intelligence agency did so to give the BNP a blemish.The BNP leader was speaking at a discussion meeting at the capital’s Photo Journalists’ Association auditorium.
BNP-led 20-party alliance component Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) organised the discussion marking the Farakka Long March in 1976.
A retired brigadier general of Bangladesh army, Hannan Shah, claimed Aslam agreed to be snapped with the Israeli citizen at the latter’s request.
Hannan blamed the incident on ‘Aslam’s foolishness’.
The BNP leader said most of the rivers in the country have dried up because of Farakka barrage erected by neighbouring India.
“Bangladesh is being deprived of its due share of water thanks to some of [Indian] collaborators,” he alleged.
He alleged the Bangladesh Awami League-led government will never work for protecting the rights of the people.
