Hasina to face trial for solicitation, warns BNP

BNP on Monday warned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that she will be put on trial very soon for the ‘vicious mass killings’ being carried by joint forces across the country.
The party also threatened that Sheikh Hasina will be made accused of order giver for the unlawful killings of opposition leaders and activists all over the country. In a statement, BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed said, “The day is not far away when Sheikh Hasina will have to stand in the dock taking the responsibility for the brutal mass killing. She herself ordered killing opposition leaders and activists indiscriminately and announced it in public to shoulder the responsibility for the action.”
He alleged that the government has turned the country’s all areas, including cities, towns, ports and villages, into dreadful valleys by carrying out cruel killings at the dead of night in the name of drives by joint forces.
The BNP leader claimed their leaders and activists are sacrificing their lives on the streets after being hit by bullets of the government’s repressive forces. “Many leaders and activists who are on the movement and the innocent people are also being arrested. The nation will remember the sacrifices of all those with gratitude.”
Salahuddin alleged that law enforcers killed Dhaka city’s Shah Ali thana unit Islami Chhatra Shibir leader Emdad Ullah after picking him up from his house and made a cooked-up story of crossfire. “We strongly condemn and protest such killings.”
He said the governments’ ‘evil efforts’ to suppress people’s justified movement with repressive acts will surely boomerang.
