Terming historical the High Court verdict that declared the 16th constitutional amendment illegal BNP on Friday said it has strengthened people’s confidence in the judiciary . Dhaka, UNB news agency reported.
“The High Court‘s yesterday’s verdict declaring the 16th constitutional amendment illegal is monumental. The verdict has brightened the image of the judiciary and strengthened people’s confidence in it,” BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rurul Kabir Rizvi said at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
The verdict has raised hope among the people of the country over getting justice, he said.
The High Court on Thursday declared the 16th Amendment to the Constitution establishing Parliament’s power to remove the Supreme Court judges illegal and contradictory to the Constitution.
