Hearing against Parimal sacking on 26 June

A Dhaka court on Wednesday deferred the hearing in the case filed against sacked teacher Parimal Joydhar of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College for molesting a girl student of the institute deferred to June 26.
Judge-in-Charge of Dhaka’s Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-4 passed the order in absence of regular Judge Arifur Rahman of the tribunal.Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor Forqan Mia of the court told this correspondent that the court so far recorded the depositions of 16 witnesses in the case.
On July 5, 2011, the victim’s family filed the case with Badda Police Station accusing Parimal of violating the tenth grade schoolgirl at his coaching centre in Badda twice- first on May 28 and then on June 17 of the year.
Detective police arrested Parimal from the house of his relatives in Keraniganj on July 7 and on July 11 he confessed admitting his offence to a court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
On August 14, the Detective Branch (DB) of Police submitted the charge sheet of the case to the court. The court framed charges against Parimal on March 7, 2012 and dropped the names of two other suspects- the then Principal Hosne Ara Begum and in-charge of the school’s Bashundhara branch Lutfur Rahman. – Court Correspondent
