Hotel Regency sues 16 shareholders for vandalism

Hotel Regency Resort Limited lodged a case on Wednesday morning with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka against 16 of its general shareholders including shareholder Shah Ashraf Islam for vandalism and looting while the court directed Khilkhet Police Station of the capital to take cognizance of the case as a First Information Report (FIR).Regency’s Managing Director (MD) Arif Motahar lodged the case and Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Ali Masud Shaikh of the court recorded the statement of the complainant and passed the order.
Meanwhile, Executive Magistrate Maksuda Khandaker issued arrest warrant against the accused to recover the goods following another complaint.
Other accused include Mazid Khan, Monjur Hossain, Nuruzzaman Babul, Shamsuddoha, Anhar Mia, Mumin Ali, Gaffar Mia, Moinul Islam, Kazi Kaiser Ahmed, Md Zamal Uddin, Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Kazi Faisal Ahmed and Shahdat Hossain.
The complainant accused them of causing damage of computer and laptop to the tune of Tk 15 lakh. – Court Correspondent
