Hefazat firm to hold Dec-24 rally in Dhaka city

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh (HIB) will organise its planned at Shapla Square in the city on December 24 at any cost.
Central leaders of HIB in a joint statement issued on Friday expressed the determination saying that no evil force would be able to foil the
rally.
The leaders also called upon the ulema and devotees across the country to make the grand rally a success by facing all the obstacles.
They said the HIB does not run any political activity and the ongoing opposition programme and their programme of faith are not the same.
The HIB leaders said the government made the devotees angered by creating obstacles in their each programme.
They called upon the government to ban the Ganojagoron Manch immediately for the sake of country and Islam.
The HIB will organise the rally at Shapla Square demanding the release of their leaders including Mufti Harun Ijhar and Mufti Wakkas,
implementation of its 13-point demands and holding trials of killing of innocent people at Shapla Square siege programme in the early hours
of May 6.
The signatories of the statement include HIB senior nayebe ameer Maulana Muhibullah Babunagori, Hafez Shamsul Alam, Maulana Abdul Latif
Nezami, Maulana Abdul Hamid, pir of Madhupur, Maulana Tajul Islam, Mufti Foyzullah and Maulana Moinuddin Ruhi.
Meanwhile, HIB nayebe ameer and convenor of Dhaka city committee Maulana Noor Hossain Kashemi on Friday said the HIB would be forced to
take the streets if the political parties fail to resolve the political stalemate through talks.
“The HIB will not be a silent spectacle further. The HIB will be forced to take to the streets if the political parties do not resolve
the political impasse,” he said while exchanging views with journalists at Madania Madrasha.
Member secretary of Dhaka city unit of HIB Maulana Zonayed Al Habib, Fazlul Karim, Shakhwat Hossain, Monir Hossain and Oliullah Arman, among others, were present on the occasion. – Staff Reporter
