Hemp garden unearthed in Rajshahi, 2 held

In an anti-crime operation, police unearthed a hemp garden and detained two persons in this connection at Habibpur village under Charghat Upazila of the district yesterday, police sources said.The arrested persons were identified as Nabir Uddin, 45, and his follower Yeasin Ali, 60.On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid in the area and seized 20 plants of Ganja and picked up the garden owner Nabir Uddin and other red-handed.Nibaron Chandra Barman, Officer-in-Charge of Charghat Police Station, told the journalists that they were cultivating Ganja and doing its business for a long.On the other hand, police arrested an alleged drug-padding woman with seven kilograms of Ganja from Baneshwar area under Puthiya Upazila of the district yesterday.Hafizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Puthiya Police Station, said Firoja Begum, 35, wife of Babul Hossain was involved in drug-trading in the area. -BSS, Rajshahi
