The High Court division of Bangladesh Supreme Court has summoned a stay order over the teacher’s appointment in Management Studies department of Rajshahi University (RU) on Tuesday.The order came from a bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur rahman after a hearing in a writ petition filed by professor Shekh M Nuruallah, Professor Zahangir Kabir, Professor Zafa Sadique and Professor Ahidul Islam jointly seeking the stay order over the appointment University Register Professor Anthazul Haque halted the procedure of the appointment in a press release following the order.
Department sources said, university administration published an advertisement for appointment of teachers breaking the university rules and regulations. Since 2014 no meeting of planning committee has been held as it was to be according to the university ordinance.
Professor A N M Zahangir Kabir one of the petitioner, university authority published an advertisement of teacher’s appointment ignoring the proposal of planning committee and university ordinance. We filed a writ petition to uphold the university rule and regulation seeking a stay order.
University VC Professor Muhammad Mizanuddin, we halted the appointment procedure after being informed of the court’s order.

Meanwhile, An international conference organized by Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) of Rajshahi University (RU) on “Natural Resources Management in Dynamic Economy to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)” is going to be held on Thursday January 26.
A press release on Wednesday said, University VC Professor Dr. Muhammad Mizanuddin, Pro-VC Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, Director of Rural Development Academy (RDA) of Bogra Region Engineer M A Matin are expected to address the function.
