A member of highway police was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway at Bakchar in Gobindaganj upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased identified as Montejor Ali, a staff of Gobindaganj highway police outpost, hails from Dinajpur district.
Police said the accident took place in Pantapara area of the highway around 5:00am when a Bogra-bound speeding bus from the upazila ran over Montejor while he was waving cautionary signal to running vehicles near the outpost, leaving him dead on the spot.
However, the killer bus speeded away at that moment.
