Hillol returning to stage after 12 years

Adnan Faruque Hillol has garnered much popularity for his roles on TV, but like many of his contemporaries, he began his acting career in theatre. The artiste was affiliated with theatre troupe Desh Natok since 1995, where he worked for over 10 years. After busying himself with small screen projects, the actor took a break from theatre. However, after 12 years, the artiste is to return onstage in a production by Desh Natok, titled “Nittopuran”.

Hillol will don the role of Arjun. Rehearsals for the play are currently underway. “I have acted in this production a number of times before,” stated the actor. “However, it is a new experience returning to theatre after so many years, and I am having a wonderful time.”

On his passion for theatre, the actor said, “Theatre taught me to act; the stage is my acting school.”The actor is also working new TV plays to air on Eid. He is working with director Shahiduzzaman Selim for a play titled “Robinhood Asheni Tai”. Hillol will also appear in a venture titled “Babugiri”, directed by Alvi Ahmed.

Hillol is also working in a new tele-film titled “Chuti’r Ek Din”. On a quirkier note, the artiste is traveling to Sylhet the following week to shoot for a new play that will be produced in the local Sylheti dialect.

Aside from the small screen, the versatile actor is also appearing in a new commercial for a sunflower oil brand. The TVC will feature model Tahsin opposite him.

The busy star is currently a familiar face in drama serials. “Life in a Metro” is currently airing on ATN Bangla, and “Ful Mahal” is telecast on Banglavision. Hillol is also in “Corporate”, which is airs on Desh TV. “I am also in two more new drama serials,” revealed Hillol, “Shoshur Aloy Modhu’r Aloy” is airing on Nagorik TV, and ‘Tirigiri Tokka’ on Duronto TV.”
