Rajshahi, March 7 – The authorities of Rajshahi University (RU) celebrated historic March 7, a red-letter day in the history of the Bangalees’ long arduous freedom struggle in a befitting manner on the campus.The day’s program began placing wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at university Shaheed Minar in the morning.
Later, led by RU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, a procession was brought at 10.30 am on the campus that started from university Shaheed Minar premises and parading the main streets of the campus that ended at Senate Bhaban of the university.
RU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan, Pro vice chancellor Prof Dr Ananda Kumar Saha, Treasurer Prof Dr Mostafizur Rahman, Acting register Prof Dr MA Bari, Student advisor Prof Dr Jannatul Ferdaus and Proctor Prof Dr Luthfor Rahman, Public Relation Officer Prof Dr Provash Kumar Karmaker, RU Teachers Association president Prof Dr Nazrul Islam and top officials, among others, were present.
Different political parties, social, cultural and professional bodies also chalked out elaborate program marking the day. – RU Correspondent
