Hospital employee held with heroin in Sherpur

Police arrested an employee of Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex along
with heroin worth Tk30 lakh from the hospital staff quarter on
Saturday night.
The arrested was identified as Anisur Rahman, 48, cashier of the hospital.
Police said being tipped off, a police team led by Sub-inspector Ram
Prasad of Nalitabari Police Station conducted a drive in the float of
Anisur, on the ground floor of the hospital staff quarter, at about
08.45pm and recovered 300 grams of heroin worth Tk30 lakh searching
the float.
Later, the police team arrested Anisur Rahman on charge of keeping the
heroin in his house.
Confirming the arrest, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nalitabari Police
Station Golam Haider said Anisur had been involved in heroin business
since long.
A case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act, added the OC.
Bus-truck collision kills 2 in Bogra
Bogra, June 16 (UNB)- Two people were killed and 15 others injured in
a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Dhonkundi area of
Sherpur Upazila in the early hours of Saturday.
Of the deceased, one was identified as Dipti Begum,40, daughter of
late Nasar Uddin of Shantirampur village under Sundarganj Upazila in
Gaibandha.
Identity of the rest one could not be known immediately.
Highway police sources said the accident occurred when a
Gaibandha-bound bus of JJ Enterprise collided head-on with a
goods-laden truck coming from the opposite direction on the
Dhaka-Bogra Highway in Dhonkundi area of Sherpur around 4:45 am on
Saturday morning, killing one person on the spot and inuring 15
others.
The injured were admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical
College Hospital where another person died while undergoing treatment.
