A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband over a family feud at Balighat village under Sreepur (South) union of Tahirpur upazila on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Reshma,35, wife of Abdus Salam of the village. Abul Hossain Khan, chairman of the union, said Reshma and Salam locked in an altercation centring a family feud on Sunday night.At one stage, Salam beat up Reshma, leaving her critically injured.She was rushed to Tahirpur Upazila Health Complex.Later, she died on way to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital at about 12:30 pm on Monday.On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.Jamal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Tahirpur Police Station, confirmed the incident. A case was filed in this connection.
