Police arrested four people, including one woman, on charge of holding an illegal firearm and eight rounds of bullets from a house at Shantibagh early Tuesday. Police said they also seized 30 bottles of contraband Phensidyl from their possession of Azizur Rahman alias Tanvir, 25, Md Mosharraf, 25, Shahinul Islam, 25, and Mazeda Khatun, 20. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Shahjahanpur police station led by its Officer-in-Charge Mullah Jakir Hossain conducted a drive at a flat located on the ground floor of 176 Shantibagh at about 12:05 am. Police arrested Tanvir and Mosharraf and seized a foreign made pistol, eight bullets and two magazines from their possessions, while Shahinul and Mazeda were arrested from another room of the flat along with 30 bottles of phensidyl. Police produced to arrestees before Dhaka CMM court seeking remands for interrogation. – UNB
