Meherpur – Police recovered the body of a housewife from a banana orchard at Dighirpara village under the municipality area on Saturday night. UNB news agency reported
The deceased was identified as Shohagi Khatun, 50, wife of Rezaul Haque of the village.
Shohagi’s Sayeedul Islam said his mother went to the banana orchard for grazing cattle at 11 am and did not return home till the evening.
The woman might have been killed before evening and the body bore some injury marks, said Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Police detained a man in this connection. A case was filed.
