A housewife was killed and her husband injured in road crash in
Gulaghat area under Sreepur upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Jakia Sultana, 23, wife of Ansarul
Haque, resident of Kauraid area of the upazila.
Witnesses said the accident took place on the Kauraid-Sreepur Road at
about 6:45am while Jakia and Ansarul were going towards upazila
headquarters by a motorcycle from their home.
Their motorcycle skidded off the road when a bricks-laden lorry hit
the vehicle from behind, leaving Jakia dead on the spot and her
husband injured.
Ansarul was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition. -UNB, Gazipur
