Human chain formed at IU protesting attack on journos

Kushtia, Aug 8 – The Islamic University Journalists’ Association (IUJA) formed a human chain on the campus in Kushtia on Wednesday protesting attacks on journalists in the capital during the student movement for safe roads. Around 30 journalists from print and electronic media formed the human chain in front of the university’s main entrance around 11 am.
Among others, IUJA president AB Faruk, general secretary Emran Shuvro, vice-president KM Mahjuz Mishu, IU Press Club president Iqbal Hossain Rudra and its general secretary Asif Khan spoke on the occasion.
Speakers condemned the attack on journalists and demanded punishment of the attackers.
They also said they will continue their agitation as per the announcement of Bangladesh Campus Journalists’ Federation until government metes out punishment to the attackers. – UNB
