Humanoid robot Sophia steals Dhaka’s Digital World show

Sophia, the new sensation of the world, on Wednesday caught Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by surprise as the humanoid robot readily told her about various information relating to the Prime Minister.

She met Sophia, the robot that generated quite a buzz among the youth and the artificial intelligence industry around the world, at the inaugural ceremony of four-day long Digital World at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

A humanoid robot is a robot with its body shape built to resemble the human body.

After the inaugural speech of the Prime Minister the organisers announced to bring Sophia on stage to meet with Sheikh Hasina.

Then wearing yellow-white top and skirt Sophia came on the stage and the Prime Minister asked her “Hello Sophia, how are you?”

“Hello honorable Prime Minister, I am feeling proud. This is very nice to meet you,” Sophia replied.

The Prime Minister then asked how she knew her (Prime Minister). In reply Sophia said that she had read much information about the Prime Minister and Bangladesh.

“I know you are the daughter of the great leader father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. You are also known as the Mother of Humanity in the world and you are implementing the Digital Bangladesh,” she said.

Sophia also said that she knows it very well that the name of the Prime Minister’s granddaughter is Sophia too.

“Yes, the name of Joy’s (Prime Minister’s son and the ICT Advisor) daughter is Sophia,” the smiling Prime Minister informed the audience who were clapping loudly.

Sheikh Hasina then questioned her on what she knows about the vision of the Prime Minister and Digital Bangladesh.

Sophia flawlessly told various information about the vision and the digital Bangladesh.

World’s first artificially intelligent robot and Saudi citizen Sophia came in Dhaka yesterday from Hong Kong to attend the Digital World-2017.
Sophia interacted with visitors at the expo from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on Wednesday.
She took questions from visitors at the Hall of Fame inside the Banganandhu International Conference Centre at a session titled ‘Techtalk with Sophia’
Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics Ltd made Sophia having the expressiveness, liveliness, and interactivity features in it.
