‘Hundi trader’ shot by BGB men in Satkhira

Dhaka – An alleged hundi trader sustained bullet injuries when members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) shot him while fleeing with the hundi money at Laxmidari of Sadar upazila in Satkhira on Tuesday.

The victim is Alimuddin, 32, son of Anaruddin Gazi of Laxmidari village.

Subedar Atahar Ali, commanding officer of Bhomra BGB border outpost, said the BGB men challenged Alimuddin in the morning noticing his suspicious movement.

When he tried to flee the scene, the BGB men opened, leaving him injured.

The border guards also recovered hundi money worth Tk 10.5 lakh from his possession.
The injured was taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.BGB sources claimed that Alimuddin had long been involved in the hundi business.UNB
