IOM official found dead in Cox’s Bazar hotel

Cox’s Bazar, July 27 – Police recovered the body of an official of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN agency on migration, from a hotel in the Cox’s Bazar district town on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Tauhidul Islam,32, son of Sirajul Islam, hailing from Patiya uUpazilain Chattogram. He had been working as senior program assistant of IOM.
Md Farid Uddin Khondakar, Officer-in-Charge of Cox’s Bazar Model Police Station, said police recovered the body from Holiday around 9:30 pm and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
Tauhidul might have died of a stroke, he said. The cause of his death is expected to be unearthed after postmortem.
Md Alamgir, another IOM official, said the death of Tauhidul is not natural. – UNB
