Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, eminent journalist of the country, was appointed as Information Affairs Adviser to Awami League president Sheikh Hasina.Prime Minister’s special assistant (media) Mahbubul Haque Shakil confirmed the news to journalists on Thursday.
Iqbal will perform his duty as per direction of Sheikh Hasina and will remain responsible to her.
Iqbal had fought in Feni Sadar constituency in the 9th parliament polls from Awami League ticket but failed.
He was editor of the then Bangladesh Observer and member of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) board of directors.
