Iranian film show begins in city

A four-day Iranian film show is underway at national music and dance auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city.

Iran Cultural Centre, Dhaka and BSA jointly orgnaised the film show at BSA premises.Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s media adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury was present at the inaugural ceremony on Saturday evening as the chief guest while charge d’ Affaires of Iranian Embassy in Dhaka Ebrahim Shafiei Rezvani Nejad and eminent actress Lucky Enam were present as special guests.

Director, Film and Cinematography Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Badrul Anam Bhuiyan presided over the meeting while acting cultural counsellour of Iranian Embassy Dr Seyed Mahdi Hosseini Faegh presented the inaugural speech.A film titled ‘So far, so close’ was screened on the inaugural day while two more films will be screened from 11 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm every day.

‘Maritme Silkroad’ was screened at 11am while and ‘Trac Hundred Forty Three’ is scheduled to screen at 3pm on Sunday. ‘Zero to Podium’ and ‘Once upon a time love and betrayal’ are scheduled to be screened in the same time on November 5 while ‘Today’ and ‘Rana’s Silence’ will be screened on the final day of the festival at the same time.

Besides, another five-day Iranian film show is also going to be arranged in 3 different cities of the country from November 9.The five-day exhibition will be organized at Shilpakala Academy auditoriums in Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna cities.The exhibition will continue until November 13.
